Pelvic Floor

We are pleased to announce a quarterly Oxford / Bristol Pelvic Floor Masterclass, under the auspices of the Southern Pelvic Floor Group & the Oxford/Southwest Laparoscopic training groups.

This Masterclass is aimed at consultant colorectal surgeons with an established or emerging pelvic floor practice or interest. Advanced laparoscopic skills are essential.

It will principally credential candidates in laparoscopic anterior rectopexy, but will also provide instruction on the following:

The place for anterior rectopexy in your practice
Interpretation of anorectal physiology and defaecating proctography
The pelvic floor MDT including case-based discussions
Trouble-shooting after anterior rectopexy and difficult situations
Other therapies for obstructed defaecation / faecal incontinence

The course will run for 2-days in two phases, observational and hands-on surgery

Courses will run in January/February, April, June/July and October rotating between Oxford and Bristol. The faculty comprises Mr Ian Lindsey, Mr Chris Cunningham and Mr Anthony Dixon, who have undertaken between them over 500 rectopexies and Helen Carter (200 proctograms/yr).

The course fee is £1500 per candidate with Covidien kindly providing support
